Saint Augustine Academy: vampiric goth for Spring
Vampire-chic hit the runway yesterday at Saint Augustine Academy, who were aptly sponsored by hit vampire TV series True Blood. Their opening RAFW (Australian fashion week) outfit was double denim for men, but with a slightly Southern ‘Vampire Bill’ feel. Alternative Goth elements were rife from chain suspenders for men to women’s chained body jewellery, studs, intense black spiked hair and white fabric dip-died with red to create a blood-soaked effect.

While the studded denim was wearable, it wasn’t stand-out: so it was a relief to see the label’s skinny tailored men’s suiting make a return with it’s expected rock vibe. At it’s most extravagant the menswear saw a white tuxedo jacket with contrasting black lapels and piping, which fans of the label will undoubtedly call on to dress up skinny black jeans on a night out.
The beauty look on the female models was vampishly striking, with blood red lips and matching red eyeliner sweeping out from under the bottom lids. Hair was at times side slicked to create punkish fauxhawks, or wildly tousled like
